Vietnam visa requirements for German citizens

The only way for German citizens to enter Vietnam is obtaining an entry visa. Vietnam visa application should be submitted about  6 months before date of travel to avoid unwanted problems. * Required materials to submit:

-  A valid passport with one blank page

-  An application form attached with a passport-sized photo

-  Visa fee (in cash)

In special case, the embassy may request you further supporting documents. Still, do not submit more anything if you are not asked to.

The Vietnam visa fee for German passport holders is decided by types of visa and length of your stay in Vietnam. For additional about the fee, please contact directly to the embassy/consulate.

Processing time often takes about 3-5 working days to complete.

2. Vietnam visa on arrival
 

Being granted by Vietnam Government in 2007, Vietnam visa on arrival is gradually becoming the popular way to obtain visa Vietnam for air travelers. Unlike the visa procedure at the embassy, visa on arrival process is almost perfomed over the internet. Please look at 4 steps below for details:

- Complete the online visa application form

- Pay the visa service fee 

- Get visa approval letter with red visa stamp via email

- Get visa stamp and collect visa at arrival airport

Normally, the visa approval letter is processed within 2 working days. With rush visa service, the processing time is 1 working day (urgent service), 4 working hours super-(urgent service) and 1 working hour (1 hour service).

Note: Notify us immediately if you catch any mistakes in your application form. The correction could be made only when your visa application is not sent to Vietnam Immigration Department yet.
