Requirements for Vietnam visa for Greek citizens
Greek citizens are required to hold a Vietnam visa before entering Vietnam and enjoying the sights and sounds of the country. If you are a first-time traveler, reading this post helps ensure that you are not left with a last-minute surprise at port of entry.
A visa to Vietnam can be applied as early as 6 months prior to date of arrival but you should not apply too early, and not too late either. Normally, it takes 5 working days to collect the visa from embassy and 2 business days if you apply online through travel agents.
Because there is currently no embassy or consulate of Vietnam in Greece, we suggest that you should create application online on our site to obtain a visa approval which will help you to pick up visa on arrival.
How to apply?
It’s very easy and quick. You simply go to “Apply Online” and fill out the form available on that link. When you complete the form, do it with carefulness because any mistake on the application cannot be corrected after it was sent for processing at Immigration Department. It’s unnecessary to provide the exact date of travel or port of entry but it’s extremely important to enter the exact full name, date of birth and passport number.
After you finished it, click on “Next step” button to be directed to a secure page for making payment. You can choose to pay with credit/debit card or send money via Western Union.
Shortly after the payment is made successfully, you will receive an email confirming your application submission and stating the date that you are expected to receive the visa approval. On the given date, the letter of approval is provided via email, enclosed with an entry-exit form. If you request an urgent visa processing, please read the procedures here.
You already got the letter, now it’s time to arrange other documents to prepare for stamping process on arrival. The documents that you will need include:
• Original passport: should have a minimum of 6 months validity to meet requirements of the airlines
• 01 passport-sized photo taken no longer than 6 months
• Cash (US. Dollars or VN dongs): paid for the visa stamp. It requires $45 for single entry visas, $65 for 1 month multiple visas, $95 for 3 months multiple visas.
Please note: The visa approval is only good to use at the airports. If you are interested in traveling by land or sea, it’s obliged to obtain the full visa stamp from the embassy/consulate in advance.
At Visa Landing Counter at arrival airports (Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh), you present the documents listed above with approval letter and the entry-exit form. Then sit down and let the customs officer do his job. The waiting time often takes 15 minutes. Sometimes it’s longer when there are too many people getting their visa at the counter. If you hate to wait for the visa stamp so long, you should make use of stamping assistance service . Our representative at the airport will do the process on your behalf and get your visa stamp very quickly.
