The procedure to apply for Vietnamese visa at the embassy is very simple. You just need to go directly to the office of embassy, submit required documents and wait about 3-5 working days to collect the visa. A complete Vietnam visa application consits of following documents:

-  Origin passport (valid for at least 6 month prior to date of travel to Vietnam)

-   Application form (available on the website and at the office)

-   1 passport-sized photo to glue on the form

-   Vietnam visa fee (in cash)

After receving the paspsort back, you should check the visa to make sure that there is no error with it. Any errors must be reported immediately to the embassy for correction.

The visa fee is non-refundable even when your visa application is refused.

2. Get Vietnam visa at the airport

Picking up Vietnamese visa at the airport is generally known as Vietnam visa on arrival.  It is designed particularly for those who enter Vietnam by air. In order to obtain on arrival Vietnam visa from South Africa, please do the following:

-   Pay visa service fee online with your credit/debit card

-   Receive visa approval letter in your email within 2 working days (normal service)

-   Get visa stamped onto your passport and pick up the visa at the airport
