Vinh Phuc spends nearly 15 billion for Wifi coverage

This is a good news for tourists when coming to Tam Dao. Department of Information and Communication of VInh Phuc province has just announced that wi-fi system was scheduled to operate at the end of 2013 with nearly sixty 30-meter hotspots that could provides internet access for many tourists in Tam Dao.

With total investment of nearly VND 15 billion, Vinh Phuc’s VNPT will take charge of wi-fi installation for Tam Dao tourist area.

Due to mountainous terrain, wi-fi hotspots will be placed at hotels or tall buildings in the center of Tam Dao town. At lower locations, VNPT will set up a transmission station. In addition, two electronic displays will be established at the center of Tam Dao district to introduce tourism and potential for social-economic growth of the province.

As known, the free wi-fi project will be deployed until 2019. After this time, the province will stop funding the project and Vinh Phuc’s VNPT is assigned to collect fees for internet access service.

With Danang, Hoian, Hue, Halong, Tam Dao is the 5th tourist destination which provides free wi-fi internet in Vietnam. The implementation of wi-fi system at Tam Dao tourist area is expected to help tourists know more about people and culture of this place, thereby draw more and more tourists to Tam Dao, especially foreigners.
