Craft villages in Hue are invested to promote

People’s Committe of  Thua Thien Hue province has decided to invest VND 9 billion to restore and promote traditional craft villages during 2014-2015.>

In the next 2 years, Thua Thien Hue province will attach special importance to capability improvement for traditional craft villages and small handicrafts; style innovation. Besides, it is very necessary to create new commercial products suitable to customers’ demand but still ensure traditional art characteristics, and associated with souvenirs for promotion of tourism industry at the same time.>

The province will establish skilled and qualified labour force and excellent proprietors. In addition, the provincial leaders will speed up marketing activities and job creation program for 1.500 unemployed members of countryside agriculture.>                                                     

In 2013, the Centre for Industrial Encouragement and Trade Promotion under the provincial Department of Industry and Trade has carried out 31 projects to foster industrial development and brought jobs to about 2,500 labourers. The programs to promote industry in Thua Thien Hue stimulated enterprises and busineses to bring into play capability and expand production.>

The provincial Centre for Industrial Encouragement and Trade Promotion also granted VND 45 million to Viet Bao QB Private Enterprise to train 30 members to design and tailor traditional as well as morden ao dai, serving production expansion. The training course will help labourers promote creativeness, apply new technology on materials, decoration, style, meeting increasing demand of customers and deploying “suit in 2 hours” service for tourists.>

Currently, the procince has more than 200 trade villages, of which 800 popular traditional craft villages are under restoration and development. Thanks to supporting policies to develop industry, traditional crafts in general and Hue’s specialties in particular will enter into new developing process, making contribution to cultural value and color of the old capital.>
