Vietnam cuts quarantine time for fully vaccinated travelers

The Ministry of Health updated entry requirements on August 4th for fully vaccinated travelers, saying that the international travelers must complete only 7-day quarantine if they meet the following requirements:

Have a proof of negative PRC test for coronavirus 72 hours before travel by air into Vietnam.

Have a vaccination certificate. The last dose must be done at least 14 days and less than 12 months prior to the travel day.

Have a recovery certificate that shows you recovered from Covid19 in the last 6 months.

The travelers will have to complete an arrival test (Day 1) and Day-7 test. After 7 days, the travelers must obey 5K rules (Social distancing, No gathering, face mask, disinfection, and health declaration) and use Bluezone (a Covid19 exposure notification application built by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Information and Communications).

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs takes charge of giving instructions on accepted certificates of vaccination and recovery certificates. The provinces and cities would create favorable conditions for international travelers to isolate in a hotel if they require. The hotel booking cost will be paid by the travelers.

These entry requirements were given based on the advice of experts, scientists, World Health Organization, and the U.S Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s office in Vietnam.
