Effective from October 12th, all passengers of Vietnam Airlines have the option to check-in inside the city to save time at the airport.
The in-town check-in service is provided by Vietnam Airport Ground Services Company Limited. Accordingly, the passengers are allowed to check-in for flights at the stations from 2 hours to 12 hours in advance of departure time.
At the station, you can check-in by yourself (check-in counters are also available), select seats, and check baggage. Once the check-in procedure is completed, you will receive a boarding pass. Not only does this mean you can then arrive at the airport a little later on your day of departure, but you can also head straight to security.
At present, free in-town check-in service is only applicable to domestic flights departing from Hanoi and Danang. The service enables passenger to better manage their check-in time and avoid humping heavy luggage all the way to the airport.
In-town check-in service has been provided in many countries such as Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia… Vietnam Airlines is the first carrier in Vietnam offering this kind of service. The other available check-in services (online check-in, web check-in, kiosk check-in) do not allow passengers to check baggage.
