You are planning to travel to Vietnam? Well, here’s some notice for you before starting off.
Walking on the pavement
There are a lot of streets in Vietnam. Yet, the sidewalk is so different compared to other countries around the world. It is not only a path for pedestrians but also serves as parking or stalls. There are streets you have to go on the roadway because the pavement is entirely occupied by vendors or stall owners.
Watch your item
While walking on the pavement, you should not bring too many items, especially the valuables because this will make you become a target of thieves. If you are supposed to go with it, keep it carefully and do not go out at night, not enter the crowd or deserted places.
Be aware of fraud
If someone strikes up a conversation and propose you to go with him/her, you should be aware of this offer. They could cheat you out of your money. Therefore, if they do not understand what they are talking about, it is better to refuse their proposal politely.
Cross the road
Traffic is the biggest scare of foreigners in Vietnam. The streets are extremely crowded and noisy at rush hours. Thus, for your safety, you should find an intersection with traffic lights and lanes for pedestrians whenever crossing the roads.
However, you are still advised to pay attention because the Vietnamese are not praised for the good sense of traffic.
