Thanh Hoa is the land of mysteries and amazement with a lot of “god fish streams”. For a long time, people have handed out the occult stories about the origin of “god fish stream”. It is the mystery of the stories that contributes to remain unspoiled natural beauty of the stream.
The existence of the god fish living in the stream is associated with religious life of the residents. Many questions like “when was the fish stream born? What kind of fish it is? How do they fish live?” still remains a secret. It is simply because the god fish has maintained there so long that no one can remember and the local people set up an altar near the cave to worship the fish.
Not any one dares to catch the fish although there are thousands of fish with various sizes living in the cave. This action is considered as offensive to gods that hurts themselves and the whole community. Some fish even weigh 7-8 kg. According to the residents living around the stream, the fish emerge from the cave every morning and go back into it in the evening.
It is strange that the fish in Cam Luong stream only swim around the stream of 100 m. Specially, they only eat the leaves, not cannibalistic. The water in the stream is pure and not fishy at all. It is totally able to be served for living or cooking. This is a hard thing to explain that scientists are still studying.
Not only do the fish eat the leaves, they are also fed vegetables by the guarders once or twice a week. Whenever a leaf or something fall down, thousands of fish will compete to gain the bait, creating bustling sounds.
