Quang Nam is well known for Hoi An ancient town and My Son sanctuary and what else? A lesser-known attraction that I am about to mention is Thanh Ha pottery village. Located approximately 2 km from the town, Thanh Ha village is easy to access and don’t take long for you to see everything.
A trip to pottery village offers you a chance to see how locals make pottery and admire Terracotta Park-Museum, where displays miniature terracotta models of global famous buildings such as Sydney Opera House, English Parliament House, pyramids, St. Peters, US Congress, Taj Mahal and so on. Hoi An is rather touristy and this place is peaceful and enjoyable. You can spend some time watching the great art of miniatures or learning making your own pottery The museum was constructed in 2011 and officially opened on 30 April 2015. It is an imposing building of fired brick, designed and possessed by Nguyen Van Nguyen, a young architect born in Thanh Ha interested in preserving and developing ancient art of pottery. The museum includes 2 building representing 2 typical kinds of pottery oven. Entrance fee is not collected to draw more visitors to village and popularize Thanh Ha pottery to the world.
