The Vietnam Record Organization (VietKings) announced 2 records set by 2 landscapes of Sapa District, Lao Cai province: O Quy Ho- the longest pass in Vietnam and the terraced fields with the most steps.
O Quy Ho pass lies on national highway 4D, crossing Hoang Lien Son mountainous range, spanning Lao Cai and Lai Chau province with the length of nearly 50 km. It is one of the most spectacular passes which is very long and full of obstacles.
The record terraced field is located in Vu Lung Sung hamlet, Trung Chai commune, Sapa district. With 121 steps and history of 100 years, it is regarded as one of the most beautiful terraced fields in Sapa.
The awards ceremony was taken place on the 2nd November.
