Hoi An city’s People’s Committee has just coordinated with UNESCO to hold an opening ceremony of Hoi An Tourism Information Center .
This is the results of cooperation between the European Union-funded ESRT Programme, UNESCO and Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Tourism information center will provide visitors with general view about Hoi An’s culture and history, helping them determine the good place to visit and go shopping.
This is the first test model in the country with aim of connecting service and products providers to markets, taking tourists to local community, well-trained staffs and perfect operation mechanism
In addition, the center also offers free guidelines about the historical places to visit in the region.
Addressing at opening ceremony, Ms. Irina Bokova, General Director of UNESCO said that the improvement of tourism information center was considered as professional, dynamic and perfect model to develop tourism sector and replicate to other destinations in Vietnam in the future.
