As one of the world’s cultural heritages in Vietnam, Hoi An is a small town located on the bank of the romantic Thu Bon River, in the province of Quang Nam, 30 km from center Da Nang’ city to the south.
Formerly, Hoi An was a prosperous trading port, a major trading center in Southeast Asia in the century of 16th, 17th, 18th with the participation of businessmen from Japan, China, India, The Netherlands. Especially, Hoi An still remains ancient beauty after two wars and the massive urbanization in the late 20th century. Nowadays, it is very factor that makes Hoi An ancient town special and draws many national and international visitors every year.
In 1999, Hoi An ancient town was listed as the world’s cultural heritage site by UNESCO. According to Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s statistics, Hoi An welcomes 100.000 visitors each month and tourism turnover of 100 billion VND.
