And welcome to the next episode from Vietnam Visa Easy – the beauty of Ha Giang.

Ha Giang is Vietnam’s northern-most province. The mysterious landscape along the Chinese border – a combination of conical limestone peaks and deep, craterous valleys – is probably the most striking in the country.

Considered by many as the last frontier for adventurous travel in north Vietnam, Ha Giang already has an almost legendary status among independent travellers. With mountain passes hanging onto cliff-faces high above roaring rivers, and back-roads threading through forests of limestone pinnacles, it’s ideal territory for a motorbike road trip.

Almost 90% of the Ha Giang’s population are ethnic minorities with their own cultures and lifestyles which creates a unique and rich cultural heritage of the area. One of the events that make Ha Giang become unique in the market days which are organized on specific days which is usually on Sundays.

The different ethnic groups all around the wide expanse of Ha Giang remain remote from each other, and market days gives them the opportunity to gather together to exchange goods and services, to share their cultures or perhaps just to chat and see old friends.

There are currently around 40 such markets on the Dong Van rock plateau alone.

Coming to Ha Giang, not just that you get to the destinations to enjoy the scenery, but right on the way already.

Winding roads surrounding charming rivers, when protruding on the backside of the mountain with wind and cloud, when interlaced like lines squeezed on the back of the mountains make you have unforgettable experiences.
