Situated 18 km from the bay, Cua Lo beach has stretches about 10 km and features fine white sands, green casuarinas forest, clean water with salinity ranges from 3.4 to 3.5%. The average temperature in winter is around 18oC – 20oC and about 25oC in the summer. Since 1907, the French considered Cua Lo as a perfect place for resting and built a lot of villas around here. The villas were destroyed during Vietnam war.
Depart from Hanoi to Tra Vinh, you can arrive Cua Lo in 3 ways: Cam Mountain, Quan Hanh and Quan Banh streets. However, the shortest as well as easiest way is following the turning at Cam Mountain. This road will shorten about 10 km for visitors from Ha tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri or further provinces in southern region. Cua Lo is situated in the cultural relic complex of Nghe An and getting close to “tourism industry”. Still, this coastal town still retains primitive beauty.
With the length of 8.2 km, Cua Lo is divided into 3 small beaches: Lan chau, Xuan Huong and Song Ngu. The tourists could build castles, wander along the beaches or swim in the cool water.
The seafood in Cua Lo is very abundant with over 200 fish species and specialties such as shrimps, cuttlefish, grabs, oysters … Travelling to Cua Lo, the tourists will have chance to enjoy fresh seafood at the restaurants near the beach or on the beach.
What makes Cua Lo special is “muc nhay” dish, which can not be served anywhere else. Only 50 m to 100 m off shore, the tourists could fish cuttlefish on a basket boat and enjoy it as soon as it is caught . This will definitely be a memorable experience of every tourist in Cua Lo.
