Bau Trang or also known as Bau Cat, Bau Sen, Bach Ho is located in Hoa Thang commune, Bac Binh district, about 45 km from Phan Thiet. This place is so wonderful that you should visit once in your life. There are two ways to Bau Cat at present. The first way is to drive along the sea route from Phan Thiet to come to Mui Ne. When pass over Mui Ne market and Doi Hong, keep moving about one hour to reach Bau Cat. The second way is depart from Phan Thiet city and go along highway 1A to Luong Son, turn right about 18 km, pass barren hills, go through the forests, and romantic white sand fields.
Bau Trang consists of 2 large lakes (Mr. and Mrs. Bau) and a white sand hill lying across the lakes. According to the legend of Champa, the pool used to be a river mouth running straight to the sea but then was filled up by sands and divided into two lakes. Another legend said that the lake was so large that the inhabitants decided to build a sand dam across the lake to go through. Since then it was divided into 2 parts: a small lake and a large one.
Moreover, this place also contains mysterious rumors such as crocodiles were found here long time a go or the lake’s bed was full of layers of strange seaweed that could twine tightly the legs, or the story about a giant aquatic serpent took the life of many victims. None of them has been proved to be true, yet the beauty of a sub-desert with blue clean water and lotus lake attracts a large number of visitors every year. Along the lake side, a lot of lotuses are growing. In the summer, lotus in bloom has complement to the sand mountain a blaze of color. Lotuses grow naturally, and bloom in almost seasons.
To conquer the hot dessert and vast water surface, the tourists need the support from two kinds of transport which seem to be never relevant to each other. They are boats and off-road motorcycles.
This place provides a lot of motorcycles in different colors for tourists. What is better than riding the motorcycles crossing over sand hills to enjoy the view and feel the heat coming from the sun and sands on your face at the same time.

At present, this place offers only pies, drinks, and motorcycles. Therefore, the tourists should prepare food for yourselves at home.
The best time to visit Bau Cat is from 5 am to 9 am and 4 pm to 6 pm.
The lake is quite deep, the tourists should not swim here to avoid unexpected problems.
The tourists should take time to visit Doi Hong, which is compared to the fresh beauty of a girl.
