About 2 decades ago, French photographer Bruno Barbey traveled to many destinations in Vietnam. Wherever he came, he told a story about unique cultural characteristics of that place by his photography language.
Born in 1941, Bruno Barbey is a Moroccan-born French photographer. During more than 40 year career, he traveled throughout the world to photograph, particularly war photographs.
In 1959, Barbey studied photography and graphic arts in Vevey, Switzerland. In 1960s, he traveled to Europe and Africa to take photos for magazines. In 1964, his works were posted on Magnum and he became official membership of this magazine in 1968. Later, he was assigned many important positions.
In spite of taking a lot of war photographs in different countries such as Nigeria, Vietnam, Middle East, Bangladesh, Cambodia, North Ireland, Iraq and Kuwait, Barbey never claims himself to be war photographer.
Bruno Barbey arrived Vietnam in 1994. During this time, he visited many places. Wherever he went, he discovered specific culture of that place and told interesting stories by photography language.
