By Fiona Aug 16, 2013

Lai River or Lai Giang River is the second biggest river of Binh Dinh province. Lai Giang derives from Northwest mountainous region of An Lao District, Binh Dinh Province. It runs through An Lao, Hoai An, Hoai Nhon  Districts.

Lai Giang River flows from Southwest to Northeast through Binh Chuong, Dinh Binh, Dinh Tri, Dinh Cong villages of Hoai Duc Commune; and My Tho, Khanh Trach, An Nghiep, Cong Luong of Hoai My Commune. The other bank of the river borders Bong Son and Hoai Xuan, Hoai Huong Communes before pouring into the East sea via An Du estuary.

In the afternoon, looking to the west from downstream of the river, the scenery of the countryside is so charming and poetic.

The sun is hiding behind the bamboo fences

The sky in the west is turning blazing red at sunset

Water surface with mirrored reflections of yellow sunlight

A small station at sunset

Afternoon is also the time for habitants to net and catch fish, shrimps for dinner

Tranquil scenery by afternoon
