Vietnam Folk Painting Exhibition in France

In order to celebrate the 40th anniversary diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France (1973-2013), Vietnam Fine Arts Museum cooperated with Vietnamese Culture Centre in France to hold Vietnam Folk Paintings Exhibition.

The exhibition takes place at Vietnamese Culture Centre in France with aim of introducing unique features of Vietnam traditional fork culture, values of spiritual culture  of Vietnamese ethnic groups.

The exhibition will display 65 typical paintings from well-known painting villages such as: Dong Ho in Bac Ninh, HangTrong in Hanoi, Kim Hoang in old Ha Tay, Lang Sinh in Hue, and worship paintings: Vu Di in Vinh Phuc, Doc Loi in Nghe An.

The main theme of the exhibition is daily activities reflecting working lives of Vietnamese cultivators including working in rice paddies, feeding animals…, paintings for Tet holidays and worship paintings which express the wish for prosperity, happiness and lucky. The exhibition is expected to last from 27 July to 16 September 2013.
