Hanoi tourism administration has been putting more efforts on developing green tourism with the main purpose to protect and reserve the local environment and to attain sustainable development of the city.
The project has been conducted for 2 years, and unexpectedly positive result achieved is encouraging local authorities to further invest and expand it.
It can be listed some green tourism products that have been operated in Hanoi such as bicycle tours to suburb areas, Red River (Song Hong) Cruise, electronic car tour around the Old Quarter. These tours have been favored by a considerable number of travelers, particularly foreign visitors.
Hanoi tourism administration is planning to expand this project to other well-known tourism attractions around the city, including Day River, Ba Vi National Park, Tam Dao, Soc Mountain- Dong Quan Lake and Huong Son Relics.
Despite of the city have been popularized recently, green tourism is now considered priority in tourist development strategy of Hanoi and many other popular tourism destinations throughout the country.
