According to Mr.Phan Quoc Anh, Director of Ninh Thuan Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first 6 months of 2013, Ninh Thuan greeted 620 thousand arrivals, increasing 29.19% over the same period last year, of which foreigners account for 36.100 arrivals, 22.44% up against the same period last year.
Social income from tourism activity reached VND 260.05 billion. However, this figure is still much lower than neighboring provinces such as Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa. To reach 1 million arrivals (120.000 of which are international arrivals), Ninh Thuan needs to enhance quality management of tourist destinations with aim to improve quality and diversity of tourism products, said Phan Quoc Anh. In addition, the province has to place importance on development of historic-cultural products to attract tourists./.
