Book in advance
You should book 60 days in advance to select a standard room with cheap price. If you don’t book until your trip is coming close, particularly on holidays, you will have to pay much more to get a good space.
Bargain for a good deal
Normally, tourists often accept immediately the given price of hotels. However, this is only accurate to luxurious hotels. If you stay at budget hotels or motels, you are totally able to make a bargain for a reasonable price, especially when you are travelling on normal days.
Don’t trust the photos
Beautiful light will make almost rooms seem to be brighter and cleaner. Hence, do not put all your faith upon photos on the website of hotels or online hotel booking websites.
Require information of basic service
Even when the information is public on the website, do not hesitate to ask the hotel-keepers or the receptionists what you are not sure about the rooms, such as: Does the hotel offer free water bottles or any food in the minibar will be charged? How far is the hotel away from the beach/ tourism centre? Is the laundry service included in the hotel fee?
Book through reliable websites
Ideally, you should book through the hotel’s website to easily find information and get a cheap price. However, in case you can not find out its website, you could reserve through an agent. Still, you are advised to reserve on prestige or recommended websites to reduce risk. Besides, to get a good price, you can select cheap deals on online shopping websites.
Ask information about services excluded
If the hotel’s website does not mention some services, carefully ask about it. For example, some hotels in a foreign country may charge you if you dirty the floor. In addition, you should also ask about extra fees if you want to increase the number of people in a standard room.
