Poetic Ho Xuan Huong lake, tranquil Dak Lak lake or legendary Tnung lake are famous attractions in the Central Highlands, which is extremely attractive to tourists.
Tnung lake, Pleiku
Tnung lake or Bien Ho (Great Lake) is located about 7 km to the North from the centre of Pleiku city. With the altitude of 1,000 m, area of 250 hectares and an average depth of 40 m, Tnung lake is regarded as one of the largest freshwater lakes in the Central Highlands. According to several documents, Tnung lake was remains of a volcanic crater which was extinct millions of years ago.
Looking from above, Tnung lake looks like a crystal sparkling in the sunshine. The path leading to the lake is full of green pine trees, yellow wild sunflowers, which intensify the beauty for the lake. Coming here, tourists could row the dugout canoes to visit around the lake.
Ho Xuan Huong lake, Da lat
Situated at the heart of Da lat city, Ho Xuan Huong lake is named after a talent poet, who was referred to as the queen of Nom poetry. From the distance, Ho Xuan Huong connects with the image of a crescent with a calm water surface that looks like a mirror. The surroundings are green lawns with rows of cherries, pine and willow trees swinging in the wind. The poetic scenery of Ho Xuan Huong touches so many people and it is why a lot of love couples like to come here for dating.
Compared to graceful jasper in the midst of the early morning, Ho Xuan Huong lake is as beautiful as an aquarelle. You could take a tour of the lake by paddleboat, inflatable boat or motorboat. When the night comes, you can stroll or sit on chariots to visit around the lake and enjoy the cool air of Da lat. No associated with legends like other attractions but the romantic beauty of Ho Xuan Huong lake is still a not to be missed scenic spot for tourists when travelling to Da lat.
Lak lake, Dak Lak
Situated in the territory of Lak district, Lak lake is one of the largest freshwater lakes in Vietnam. Along with Yok Don national park, Lak lake is a must-visit attraction in Dak Lak.
Coming here, tourists could ride the huge elephants crossing the Lak lake or admire the lake on a dugout canoe. The peaceful atmosphere will help you forget all the troubles in daily life and immerse in nature. Another not to be missed spot when travelling to the Lak lake is Bao Dai’s palace, the resort of the last emperor under Nguyen dynasty.
