How to apply a Vietnam visa on arrival for Australians? Is it legitimate?
Hi, we want to spend around 2 weeks in vietnam for our honeymoon from the 23 Apr - 2 May. Is it better to do it through the consulat or online? It's the first time we travel to Vietnam. I'm worried if Vietnam visa online is legitimate. Also, can you advise how this works as I'm a little concerned. Anyways, we are Australians. Thanks in advance!

Dear Myles,
Please inform that you can apply for a Vietnam visa in 2 ways: coming directly to your nearest Vietnam Embassy/Consulate in Australia or applying Vietnam visa on arrival, which is applicable for Australians who enter Vietnam by air. Vietnam visa on arrival is tottally legitimate because it is also issued by Vietnam Immigration Department, the only agency in Vietnam which have the full authority to approve Vietnam visa. More than that, Vietnam visa on arrival has been recognized by IATA ( International Air Traffic Association).
To apply for visa on arrival online, what you have to do is simple as follow:
- Submit your Vietnam visa application on this site
- Pay service fee in advance as per instruction,
- Get your approval letter via email within 2 working days
- Print the letter out to bring it along with you together with 01 passport-sized photo, origin passport to the arrival airport in Vietnam, pay stamping fee according to the rate regulated by the Government then pick up your visa there.
We highly recommend you the second way because it is cheaper, faster and more convenient for you.
Hopefully, our information is helpful for you.
Best regards
