How to get visa at Vietnamese Embassy in Bangkok
Directions to the embassy:
The Embassy is located on Wireless Road, directly south of the Ploen Chit BTS Station. From the station, take Exit 5 and walk to the end of the walkway. Then turn left and down the stairs onto Wireless Road. Walk down Wireless about five minutes, passing the Hotel Athenee, and the Embassy will be on your left.

Documents required:
1. Your passport (original and one copy): should have at least 1 month validity prior to the date of exit from Vietnam or 6 months validity to meet airlines’ requirements.
2. Approval letter from Immigration Authority or Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam
3. Application form: is available at the Embassy’sConsular counter. However, you should complete the form in advance at governmental site or else download it from Vietnamese Embassy's website in Thailand.

5. Visa fee: paid in Thai Baht
VISA FEE:
Single entry visa costs 2,400 baht for four-day processing and 3,000 baht for next day processing. The same-day processing is no longer available. The application must be submitted between 9am to 11.30 am and 1.30pm to 4.30pm from Monday to Friday. Make sure you submit the application early in the morning for the next day service. The 3 month single/multiple visa is not always available at Vietnam Embassy in Bangkok. For 3 months visa order, you are advised to contact with the embassy early in advance of the visit. Please be noted that the visa fee may vary slightly depending on your nationality and visa issuance schedule is changed frequently without notice.
How to get Vietnam visa on arrival
Let’s imagine that you have to spend all day running around the Embassy, waiting in a queue to apply for a Vietnam visa in Thailand; you feel tired and start to lose patience. In order to receive the visa stamp upon arrival, you need to have an approval from Immigration Department. Without the approval, you’re not allowed to board the plane as well as not allowed to pick up the visa. So, how to get the approval? Very simple. You make an online application at by filling out the visa form at here and proceed with payment steps. After you have finished the form, an email will be sent to your email address to confirm your information. You will have chance to double check what you have filled in and correct mistakes (if any). Once payment has been made, the second email will be sent to inform about the delivery date of approval. Usually, you will get the approval letter visa email on the following day of application. In case of emergency, you can request rush visa service which will offer a large reduction in processing time, allowing you to get your Vietnam visa as fast as you want (1hour-24 hours). Of course this will cost extra fee, but well worth the peace of mind.

Stamping process at the airport
With the approval, you are able to fly to any Vietnam’s international airports and get visa stamp. One you land the destination airport and leave the plane, look for immigration counter and submit the approval with your passport, completed entry-exit form (the form is often provided by the agent) and 01 passport photo. Because there are many people getting the visa at the same time, it takes 10-20 minutes until your documents are checked. When your turn comes, the officer will call your name and ask you to pay stamping fee ($25 for single entry, $50 for multiple entry). As soon as the fee is paid, he will put a visa stamp inside your passport and return it to you with a red invoice as shown in the picture below:
